Internet blues

I recently purchased a number of excellent games including Half Life 2 and Bioshock. Unfortunately, I didn't realize these games required internet access to play them. My gaming computer does not have internet, however, the "family computer" in the other room has DSL. Is there any way to hook my computer up to the DSL modem without having to install a router and everything. Also, is justing hooking the computer up sufficient, or do I need to install AOL or another provider. Thanks for any help.

How is the other computer connected to the modem ? If it's in USB, you could hook the computers up together using a crossover cable & share the Internet connection.

an ethernet cable connects the computer to the modem, but I'll see if I can still use a crossover cable. I'm not sure what it is, but I'll do a little research. Thank you
