Internet Explorer 6 Odd Ball Problem

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This one has puzzled me for a while now.

I have IE6.0.2800.1106IC running Cipher128 with SP1 updates...so I think I have everything that MS has to offer.

I can surf every site in the Net without problem. When I go to Yahoo, I can use every service they have out there....but one. When I go into it I can get the first page, but when I try to drill down on some of the first page links, I get the old:

***************************
The page cannot be displayed.

Check your browser settings, refresh, etc.

Cannot find server or DNS Error
internet explorer
***************************

I have fiddled with settings, refreshed forever, asked Yahoo for help...but still no cigar.

I surf far and wide and this small web section at Yahoo is the only place I continuously receive this error.

Can anyone suggest anything else that I might try?

Thanks!!

Bruce

A few things you can try- press ctrl-f5, which is a forced refresh.

Also, erase a letter or two of the URL and retype it in- sometimes IE6 doesn't get DNS lookups quite like it should for whatever reason, this can help clearing up some of that stubborness.

You can try clearing Windows' DNS cache.. also if you have hostsfile lookups, you might try disabling those for a little bit- those can cause DNS issues on some machines.

can you paste a few of the errant URLs for us to ponder?
