Internet Explorer not working

Well I go on internet explorer and it always end up as Connot find server. Mozilla works perfectly for me but I want internet explorer to work again.
Edit: Oh and I remembered I have some other programs that will not work some reasons. AIM and Aol will not start up anymore for me.

Shortcuts and Favorites

Do you mean all of these or just the IExplorer Icon ?
Is the Icon on the Desktop with a Home Page address ?
Is it set to Default ? Is "Set Program Access and defaults"
on the Start Menu?
Probably in System Tools folder.This gives you your Browser choice.

Well most of the time I click on Internet Explorer and the homepage says Cannot find server and I try going on other sites and the same results happen. Once in a while Internet Explorer works, but otherwise I get the Cannot find server.

However, you`re running two antivirus programmes and also have a bit of Symantec/norton running as well.

Go and follow the instructions HERE for removing Symantec/Norton, then uninstall one of your antivirus programmes, as it`s not recommended to have more than one antivirus running at the same time. It will slow your system down and can cause serious conflicts.

Alright also and I found out the problem. Someone kind of messed with my Local Area Settings and I put it back to normal.

Well, somebody else could have been using his computer, if he has kids using it or something.

Howard did say the HJT log is clean; you can take a look yourself if you want to. That should show what antivirus he's running.

my local settings were also messed up

i never change any setings there

they were changed by some program, malware or some bug or virus

not intentional changed. im sure.

There are many many reasons for not connecting.If you do regular
maintenance of Virus and Spyware scan,then thats not the reason.
Some websites are either to busy,doing maintenance etc.
I just left one,i'll probably connect later without checking my IE settings.
If you can get to any and check your email,these should be OK.
Maybe your setting Security too high.I use medium,custom.
pcpitstop.com will analyze your settings,and suggest changes.
