Internet not working all of a sudden

Hi, can somebody tell me what's wrong with my desktop pc?

1. Windows 7 64bit, can't connect to internet out of the blue.
2. Asus w lan card and Ethernet controller's drivers have both been uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, to no effect. Both are working fine, according to device manager.
3. Network center shows big red x over the icon, can't see my network or other networks on it.
4. My WiFi seems to work fine on my phone and tablets
5. Trouble shooting it says I have problems with "wireless adapter or access point" and "a network cable is not properly plugged in or may be broken"

Thanks for helping!

Red X tells you it's driver related. Remember you have two devices, the wired NIC and the wifi.
Gather the system specs for the system and these two devices.
On another system search and download NEW copies of both drivers to a thumb drive

take the thumb drive back to your system and install both NEW drivers.

Test and configure the wired device first - - that avoids SSID and passwords to show your ISP connection will work. Afterwards, disconnect the wired and try the WiFi.
