I was an IBM system programmer. Worked on mainframe computers. Our company supplied terminals and software for brokerage firms, to view stock quotes and other data pertaining to various stocks and bonds, so they could service their clients. I mainly worked behind scenes for in house work, so our programmers could take care of billing, cost accounting etc. You'll notice the keyword is mainframe, which probably became obsolete, 2 days after I left. Oh I didn't retire voluntarily, our company was bought out just for the client base, and at my age at the time, there was no one who was going to hire me as I would probably only have been there a couple of years.
