Spotted at Slashdot that Ritz Camera has begun offering a single-use digital camera that costs about as much as, and works like, a disposable film camera. The NYTimes has more details:

The camera costs $10.99, which includes a set of 4-by-6-inch prints, an index print showing thumbnails of all 25 shots, and a photo CD, allowing for further home or commercial printing.

Isnt it cool how technology is affecting the world and peoples everyday lives.

The thing I hate about these is that they aren't actual digital cameras...they just give you the pictures on a CD, which you can get with any camera. So what's the point?

But the cost of taking in your 35/aps film to get a cd with your prints is much higher than going with this deal.
