Apple is now seeing iOS 8.3 to developers (alongside Xcode 6.3 beta with Swift 1.2) that’s packed full of new features including wireless CarPlay support for the iPhone which allows owners to wirelessly connect their handset to CarPlay-enabled in-vehicle entertainment systems for an iOS-like experience right on the dashboard.

Up to this point, iPhone users were only able to connect to CarPlay via the Lightning port.

Other new features in iOS 8.3 include a reorganized emoji selection screen with several new categories and continuous scrolling, support for the China UnionPay network in China and updates to the Health app. What’s more, the update delivers easier Google login functionality for those using two-factor authentication.

In related news, Apple is said to be taking a slightly different direction with the next major iteration of its mobile operating system. Codenamed Monarch, one of iOS 9’s major “features” is said to be an acute focus on stabilization and overall system optimization much like OS X Snow Leopard did on the Mac in 2009.

Sources tell 9to5Mac that Apple engineers are putting a huge focus on fixing bugs, maintaining stability and boosting performance instead of solely focusing on new features. The move comes as Apple has received plenty of complaints with regard to stability and performance from both Apple fans and regular users.

The Cupertino-based company only seeded a fifth beta of iOS 8.2 to developers a week ago meaning a consumer release of iOS 9 is still many months out.

"Apple has received plenty of complaints ... from both Apple fans and regular users"

What's the difference between an Apple fan and a regular user?

Apple has had problems since iOS came yet are still making its users wait more to fix issues that they should have been workin on the last few months. Oh wait they were busy adding emo icons for the 5 ppl who use them. Apple is selling more iphones then ever and also have more software problems than ever. Go figure.

Ever since IOS 7 Google Maps has not been able to give turn by turn directions over the cars audio system via bluetooth. It used to work and it was great. Stopped working on my iPhone 4s and on my iPhone 6! I'm told to turn off the phones bluetooth so I can get audio from the phone. But that defeats the whole purpose of hands free phone calls! Fix it! Google Maps audio should work over bluetooth! Period!
