iPad has 95.5 percent of the market, tablet wars are coming

In my opinion the iPad is as useful as an iPod touch.The only os'es that can make tablets really useful is Windows and Linux (Android not included!)

those sales percentages dont matter now since apple had a long head start. it would be unfair to compute for those at this time. i dont like tablets, or maybe i just dont like the ipad. i mean its good and all but the price is horrible. you get to buy the name, not the product. same goes for other apple products.

I am waiting for the Asus Eee Tab with Windows 7 Home Premium in it. That I think is going to be a true netbook replacement.

As for the iPad, I still think that for a device this expensive, its too short on features. I mean, I know that it has a great user interface and all, but the fact remains that you are reliant on Wifi most of the time, so you have to seek hotspots out. Hardly a replacement for a netbook don't you think?

every "ipad killer" was promising better price. now samsung is out and it costs the same as ipad. with less battery life and even smaller screen. so where are those ipad killers now?
anyway tablets are perfect for people not familiar with computers.the operation of it is so much more intuitive. i remember explaining my dad what is the difference between left click and right click. i think he does not get it even today at least he knows how to move the cursor up by shifting the mouse away from him not lifting it in the air, which is funny but logical.

It´s not surprising at all. Amazing marketing strategy, few innovations plus apple logo on the back and what you get is this kind of market share. It´s like BMW cars, even if they made a car that would look like crap, people would buy it, simply because it´s BMW, and eventually it would be still far better than most of the competition.

Probably I am guessing because of the price besides Apple products have been rather style than substance. Gorgeous looking products are for people who just buy just without thinking twice how will they use it.Hope tablets change this especially from companies like Samsung who price it right & make it work brilliantly & more efficiently & give users like us the real thing we're looking for.

Same comment I have for the viewpads and still is applicable:

I have completely skipped through the laptop phase. I've never owned a laptop. And it's a good thing that tablets are gaining popularity and are becoming mainstream, hence becoming cheaper and better at the same time.

So I plan to just have a desktop for my workstation and a tablet for mobility. Nice combination. No space for laptops in my master plan!
