Is AntiVirus Worth it?

Maybe it is just my computers, but does AntiVirus monitoring slow your computer down significantly? It is almost more trouble to me when it is protecting my computer.

It wont slow you down as much as most malware, and it wont steal your personal information - so I would say it is worth it

What AV product are you using that may be a big part of the problem

Well Ive tried Norton and Then Mcafee. They both seemed slow although I agree with you about the consequences of having malware.

Those are both the worst as far as using your computers resources.

Uninstall either of them then run their removal tools

Try this security setup it will use less resources then either of those:
I suggest you run 1 Anti-virus program/ 1 Firewall/ and a combo of anti-spyware
