Is it possible to actualy build a Laptop?

Like could I just go to newegg and pick up some parts for laptops and just put it together like a normal desktop? Or do I have to graduate from MIT or something? :haha:

Sure, you can buy barebones laptop kits, but there won't be much "building" there - you will only be able to put in the CPU, RAM, HD and maybe some mini-PCI cards.

There is no standard laptop form factor, so the power supply, motherboard, keyboard, optical drives, screen, cooling have to be designed for the specific chassis and you can't get them separate.
