Is my mobo sick?

I just built my first system about 4 weeks ago and everything went well

Just recently though my front USB ports stopped recognizing devices that were plugged in - the ports work fine - just no pop-up. The rear USB ports seem fine. Now my rear firewire port doesn't seem to be working properly. I have an iPod connected and it charges OK, but iTunes does not "see" the iPod any more. It is also not listed in the hardware display.

Are these problems related - and more importantly, any suggestions for a fix?

my mobo is Asus A8N SLI Delux.

Check for an update of the Asus USB-drivers.
See that your cables are properly connected (PC-front to mobo).
Are you using a USB-hub rather than plug directly into the PC?

Found part of the problem - went into BIOS and found the firewaire had been disabled. Don't know how this happened since it was working before!

there are things on the internet that do change the BIOS, do not let anyone tell you otherwise, it can and will happen if you do not pay attention to what u download...

does not sound like the problem u had but could have been.
