that internal HDs suddenly got really, really, expensive? i was looking at a 500GB hard drive for 100 bucks, that a few months ago someone got for 35 bucks. Only asking cause I was thinking of building a rig and the hard drive is nearly 1/4 of the cost of the whole thing.

It's Ironic that global warming and nuclear meltdowns are turning out to be good for business, isn't it?
I heard that Newegg has enough in stock to hold them over until this is all cleaned up. I'd think that they're making pretty big profits right now...

You capitalized your I in ironic.

From what I hear, it could be a while.
IMO, if you can't wait, consider an SSD.
Oh look, you're being steered exactly where they want you to go! Isn't that Ironic, capital "I".....

Let us know how you make out finding a 2TB SSD, will ya?

There are going to be some price fixing lawsuits from all this.
You betcha! Then, everybody will get 50 cents each in a class action lawsuit settlement, and the price of mechanical HDDs will never come down. I can't wait
