Isn't my ASUS board supposed to yell at me?

I hooked up my mobo (p4p800-deluxe) to my case, jumpers, etc. and all is fine.

Now, I have *nothing* else component wise on the mobo, no memory, no CPU, no cards, nothing. Isn't the Voice thingy supposed to say "No CPU detected" or some such thing, or even beep at me? I switched the speaker connector around two times; both didn't make any noises.

    Is my speaker crapped?

No, I tested the mobo with my other computer's speaker and it still made no sound. So I think everything's OK.

i think it only beeps when one of the components hooked up to your board dont function right. or when your cpu posts.

i think you need more than just the mobo for betty to ***** at you.

u have to first set the voice messages on in the bios
pretty sure they are defaulted to off.

    It's default is "Enabled". It's fine though...I don't think there's anything wrong.

You have to use the Winbond Voice Editor program on the CD to enable it from within Windows.

I don't think of everything I believe. I think that's called a skeptic. ;-) On the other hand, don't think. It's too hard on you.
