Using Vista RTM, System Configuration :
    AMD 64 CPU AM2 : AMD Athlon 64 x2 4600+ AM2 1024K Cache
AMD 64 CPU Fans : Spire Kestrel-King II AMD 64 fan
    AMD 64 AM2 Motherboards : ASRock ALiveSATA2 K8T890, PCI-EX, DDR2,Sound, LAN
    DDR2 memory : 2GB (2x1GB) PC4200 DDR2 533 Dual Channel
PCI-Express Video cards : GeForce 7600GS 256Mb PCI EXpress Sound Cards : AC 97 32 BIT Full Duplex sound card (onboard)
Network Cards : 10/100 Network card adapter (onboard)
Power Supply : Okia 600W ATX Power Supply
Currently 3 SATA II HDDs, and wanted to add 2 more 80GB HDDs, Bios set at AHCI - NO RAID. O rdered ITE IT8212 to assist with installing 2 100 GB ATA HD's. IT8212 is installed using Add Hardware, drivers updated to v 1.7.2.9 and all I get is YELLOW on the DEVICE. It does not show in BIOS during POST, it does not show at all ..
How do you properly install IT8212 in Vista?
Do I need to set the BIOS to RAID? even if the HDD's are ATA!

Problem solved. 1st I never uninstalled the old card and drivers.
Once I inserted the old card again... and it was working , I then uninstalled it the proper way... shutdown... installed the NEW card, and when I restarted Vista found NEW hardware, located the correct drivers and installed the device.

    New Card is working fine...
