Jaton Video Card Problem

I just installed a Jaton 118 PCI 32 TV video card on my computer: Gateway G6-266, Windows 98. The software driver is nVidia.

The card works OK except when I click on "display properties", "settings". Then the screen goes blank except for a blinking cursor in the upper left. I have to shut off power and reboot.

Gateway (who selected the card for me) has been no help -- they referred me to Jaton.

Jaton has been next to useless. They said to try changing the video configuration in BIOS from pallette snooping disabled to enabled. That made no difference. They say maybe the card is not compatible with my computer.

Any suggestions on how to overcome this problem?

Is there another video card that I can be sure would not have this problem?

Do you have the latest drivers for the card? If not download them and update.

You could get a Geforce2 MX400 PCI and not have this prob. It doesnt sound like your gaming, and a GF2MX400 is cheaper then a 5200FX PCI [if it even comes in PC].
