Hi, i have an ECS K7S5A mobo and i want to put one strip of 512mb DDR RAM in it. Which do i go for? PC2100 or more 266mhz? Basically what is the fastest strip? I was thinking of Corsair memory

You can use either DDR266(PC2100 or 266Mhz) or DDR200(PC1600 or 200Mhz) RAM or PC133 SDRAM. Obviously DDR is the way to go, and if you have any 266Mhz FSB Processor (i.e. Athlon XP rather than Athlon T-Bird or Duron) then you really need 266Mhz RAM anyway.

The best bet however is to buy some DDR333 or DDR400 and run it at a 266Mhz but with a lower CAS setting, in most cases this should work fine, but you may need a different -* Read Modded *- BIOS for your board.
