  1. Mighty No. 9, the Kickstarter-funded game from Mega Man illustrator and co-designer Keiji Inafune, has been delayed once again.

In an update on Kickstarter, Inafune apologized for the game's third delay (it was originally expected to ship in April of 2015) and cited bugs inside the network modes as justification for the latest setback.

Specifically, he referenced two reasons leading to the problems: the large number of platforms supported and the fact that the engine used to make the game is no longer being updated. Inafune said the solution for each platform is slightly different meaning each version needs a custom fix.

The outdated game engine, however, sounds like a far worse problem. As a result, adjustments for matchmaking and online code are having to be done manually (the team is actually having to reprogram parts of the engine themselves).

Inafune said the development team worked non-stop on the issues during the holidays and through the beginning of 2016 but it has become clear that they no longer have enough time to fix the multiplayer issues and prepare everything else for the February 9 release. He didn't give a firm launch looking ahead but said they realistically expect it to be ready sometime this spring.

Mighty No. 9 raised over $3.8 million in pledges from more than 67,000 backers during its Kickstarter campaign in the fall of 2013. It's currently among the top 20 most funded campaigns of all-time.

Let them, people can be patient. Hopefully that will mean a polished game us veterans used to count on.
