Kingston USB Drive 32 GB Not Working

I recently Got a KIngston 32gb thumb drive. its a datatraveller. winxp tells me that available space is 31.2gb, but when i put some media into it, unplug the device , it seems to take up space. but when i explore the device it shows all the folders . but 0 files...please help!!

PS: tried in 2 desktops and 1 laptop, problem persists.

Hi phoenix5271,

Try formatting the USB drive to see if that clears up the problem. You can format using FAT32 or NTFS depending on your needs. If it still fails then try copying the same exact folders/files to a different storage device. If that works then the 32GB USB drive is probably defective and needs to be replaced. Check with your reseller or Kingston for a replacement.

Make sure you're safely ejecting the drive. I've seen some compact flash cards lose files unless they were safely ejected.
