    Hey all..
I have an Abit Kv7-v mb. I have no sound, and hardware manager
does not show a device. Audio support is on in the Bios
Also having the same trouble with the usb system. uhci...it does show
in the hardware manager, but does not show the 2 device's connected to
    it..
Abit indicates 2 different chip sets for this MB, one is a via and the other
    a Realtek....Abit provided a driver in the "driver\audio\68\os2" folder,
but does not reconzie any audio device. It is suppose to be a AC codec
    any assistance
    Best

VIA is the Abit motherboard chipset and Realtek is the audio chipset maker. You need to download and reinstall the audio (realtek) driver. If you still see no audio device, the on-board audio is fried and you will have to install a PCI sound card, and turn off the audio device in the Abit's bios
