If I get a 4 port KVM switch:

I want to control 2 pcs and 1 laptop, the 2 pcs share the same monitor but the laptop uses it's own! so obviously the VGA cable won't be connected to the laptop

so if I switch to laptop in KVM, will it still turn off the pc monitor?

or will the pc monitor stay on? and working with PC?

Yes, the monitor will be switching into stand-by, when you switch to the laptop.
Why not try to connect the laptop to the monitor as well, should be possible?

well I want to watch movies on one monitor and work on the other, so I need 2 monitors active at all times!

If your graphics card on the movie-playing PC has two outlets, you could attach the second cable to the KVM-port for the laptop, the monitor should continue to play movies when KVM is in laptop-position.

I have Rad9k7, that has one VGA and the other DVI outlet, are there any DVI to VGA adapters?
