LAN Help

By Strictly
Sep 25, 2005
  1. Hi i am using a internet connection provided by my College on campus. Its a LAN Connection. Well my problem is that their security settings are to strict, they ban a lot of sites that to me is just silly.
And i was wondering if there was anyway to get around these settings so i can visit these said site.
    Thanks

    maybe.

The only thing I can think of is to use a proxy, providing you can find one that isn't banned.

    www.the-cloak.com is an online service.

If you can configure a proxy properly (if they've allowed it) there are many lists of free proxies just a google away.

None of this means that they won't find out though

hey, it's free Internet access and after all, there's only two rules:
    1) know the rules
    2) when in doubt, read rule 1

I have read of people circumventing University security access to the web being denied that priveledge and even in extreme cases being expelled from the University...
    YMMV.

    patio.
