  1. Ok, this is my first bit of networking. I (at the moment) cannot purchase anything new.

I was wondering if there was a way to use a laptop as a wireless router for my I touch to connect to the internet from. My laptop right now gets 100Mbits/s from a ethernet broadband connection.

    Thanks alot

Laptops are the same as a desktop in this area.

The Internet Connection Sharing would allow this but then the lan would be like
      modem---- laptop --- other device
which requires TWO nic cards on the laptop, one for each side (not cool)

Instead, just get a router and you'll be much happier
     modem---router--- your systems
