Ok, a woman I know had Windows ME crash on her laptop the other day. Its an older Compaq Presario with a Celeron processor. When I first started it up nothing happened. I pulled the extra 128mb strip of ram and the thing fired up, I ran a system restore, shut down the laptop, reinstalled the memory. All seemed to work fine. But now when I start up the laptop with the extra 128mb in it, it wont boot, the fan and lights come on but its doesnt POST. Would you all say the memory module failed? It will boot if I remove the extra memory, but it's dog slow(Only 32mb integrated)....

Also her battery no longer charges...maybe she ought to get a new laptop.....

Yup a new laptop or purchase some more memory. The battery is dependent on wether she needs to use it of site.
