Laptop CPU temp high?

  1. I got my first laptop last week. For the first few days the CPU temp idled at 85-89* F, but for the past few days the temp goes up to 131*F every 30 seconds. Isnt this really hot for a mobile processor? Its a 1.6 Celeron M. Compaqs tech support had me reinstall the power management software but it didnt help

    I have a Pentium M cpu on my notebook, and they run REALLY hot. The critical core temp on the Pentium M is 100c!!!!! Unbelievable I know.
