laptop not networking

    How come it did it before and not now. My Laptop when wired to the router will not show the other PCs connected to the router. When opening My Network Places, the folder is empty..???

    also u need to have some of u're programs, folders, files shared.

    first be sure sysA can ping sysB and conversely.
    then make sure all systems have the same WORKGROUP name
    cp->system->Coumputer Name
    next, enable Simple File Sharing and allow your firewall to pass FS traffic
    (ports 137,139,445)

    at this point you should see SYSTEMS under View Workgroup Computers

    if you have already shared some folders, then they will show up under
    My Network Places->Entire Net->MS Windows Net->WorkgroupName->systemName->sharename
