laptop problems

    not sure if i put this thread in the right place but anyway. my dad just phoned me he has a problem with his laptop when ever he is using it, it will turn its self off. info below -

    Dell InspironTM XPS Gen 2
    Intel Pentium 2.13GHz
    Windows XP Pro
    1024MB ram

    dont know 2 much but it cud be due to a lack of power. maybe u shud consider a new memory card with has grreater space avialble, the laptop cud be overloaded.

    there is still power going to the laptop when i turns off because the power lights stay on.

    Are you sure it's not just going into standby mode? Check the power settings in control panel to make sure. It's possible he's idling too long while on battery and so the machine is going into standby.
