The problem is that I've been getting countless computer choppy/skipping "lag" in my mouse and the performance that happens every 2 seconds and lasts about 1-2 seconds. Starts to happen when I try to run almost anything and continues when anything.. is trying to do anything. I've used the startup disc about 5-10 times and the problem is still going. I've scanned with almost everything, bitdefender, kaspersky, micafee (or w/e) and theres or no viruses at all. I'm only using Kaspersky atm w/ COMODO Firewall plus. When I try to download and install certain programs, I get a "Access violation at address 77F24BF in module 'GDI32.dll'. Write of address 00000008." Heres the Hijack log --

Computer info: Windows XP Home Edition, Toshiba Satellite Intel(R) Celeron(R) M processor 1.50GHz, 1.50GHz, 488 MB of RAM.

've ran Trend micro before and I just get cookies and a bunch of other mild risks or w/e that say I need to remove manually, but recently I cant run it because every time I try, my Firefox crashes. Now every time I try to turn on my comp, it sits on a black screen and doesn't even try to load, unless I press F1. then I starts up again. Also, every time I start up, I have about 50+ processes running, none of which I opened manually. I've ran disc defragment about two times and it was fine both times. Currently I have 74 GB of storage and 66 GB of free space. I also used to get a Virtual Memory low error, but that went away. I've also tried updating my video/graphic card. ATI RADEON XPRESS 200M Series, but I also get a error on that when I download it from ati

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

you have FAR too much running simultaneously - SOL.exe as well ??!! keyboard Hotkeys !!! do you ever use these things?

If you ever get your Pc working properly, please just use ONE reliable firewall, ONE reliable anti-virus, ONE reliable anti-spyware. More than one of any of these things tend to trip one another up.

To my knowledge I'm only using COMODO Firewall, and kaspersky anti-virus. the anti malware doesn't open properly. And about all the other stuff you listed, it all opens automatically. I'm not sure how to , and if I even should, turn them off. I can't even use a startup disc anymore because the laptop doesn't turn on correctly. If you can, please tell what things I should turn off and how. thanks.

this link http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/processlibrary/swupdtmr/ mentions most of the current library of known software agents. You could start by checking all the exe's mentioned in your original post to determine if they are really needed or not. Alternatively, (or as well), just type the exe names alone into google which will always give you information on what these things are. I would advise NOT downloading any software you find advertised as guaranteed to clean up this sort of thing. All too many are a scam designed to get you to pay for something that does nothing, or even worse, installs bots and spyware. Be warned.

As a general observation, you are also using bitdefender, and an awful lot of Toshiba utilities, many of which may well be doing nothing you benefit from. If you are an American, perhaps you are relying on AOL, but you should be aware that it also installs things like Viewpointservice which many people consider a menace.

As a general principle I never allow ANY software to freely look for updates to itself. The only automatic updaters I permit are my anti-virus updates. Everything else I update manually as and when there is a need (update spyware lists), or I hear of news of an update issued to remove security holes (advise you to access CERT.ORG and register for email notifications.)
