    Help needed from the Mac Gods...

    Created a 25MB quicktime movie file on a G4 Mac (4.5 minute capture from a Mini-DV player). File takes a while to spawn on my PC with XP using a basic QT player, but it eventually plays full screen. Sent file to a web site administrator who has a G4 and the file will not play without errors. I thought of all places, a Mac G4 would play a QT file no problem.

    Is the size of the QT movie file the problem?

    is there a way on the G4 to reduce the QT file quality and subsequently the file size without recapturing the file?

    Is the QT player backward compatible for newer versions of QT played on older QT versions (non-pro version);

    Thanks in advance,

    Peter

    The size isn't the problem, more likely the codec used in compression is. Which did you use?

    The players are backwars compatible if you compress the video & audio using codecs that are available for older players.
