LCD Blackout

Have any of you guys any experience of working on LCD monitors?
I have one that has gone very dark...although you can just make out the graphics. I believe this is because the backlight has gone, which I assume is just a bulb change....or am I being naive?
It seems crazy to change it for a new one if all it takes is a small bulb to get it working again.

Hey hodsocks, I found a coulple sites, but could you tell us exactly what your make/model is of the LCD?

But things may be totally different for your LCD, so give us the make/model and I'll see if I can find exact instructions for you...
