Google is said to be prepping a pair of handsets to launch by the end of the year: a 5.2-inch smartphone by LG and a 5.7-inch phablet from Huawei. Android Police has the scoop on the former from what they call a reliable source.

The 5.2-inch Nexus device will reportedly be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 808 SoC which consists of two Cortex-A57 cores and four lower-power Cortex-A53 cores as well as an Adreno 418 GPU. The 808 will be paired with 3GB of RAM, an amount that is quickly becoming the norm.

The 5.2-inch display will feature a modest 1080p resolution, a choice that will no doubt help with power consumption. Also in the cards is your choice of 16GB or 32GB of local storage, a 12.3-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter, a USB type-C port and a 2,700mAh battery pack. It’ll be offered in three different color schemes: white, black and blue.

The exact name of the device, when it’ll launch and for how much wasn’t revealed.

The original Nexus 5 was one of the best bang-for-the-buck smartphones we’ve seen in quite a while. To the disdain of many, Google went in a different direction with last year’s Nexus 6 – a handset with high-end hardware and a price to match.

For 2015, it seems Google may be interested in catering to both the premium and mid-range markets. The choice of hardware for the 5.2-inch Nexus device suggests we’re looking at a mid-tier smartphone which will hopefully be priced accordingly. Some suggest the handset will arrive on September 29 although nothing has been confirmed at this time.

Have you considered installing another Android firmware or rooting it for another Android version like Cynagenmod?
then what is the idea with nexus ? if u anyway have to root it and use another version.

again, with those specs its not worth more than 150$.

It depends on what you get, there is nothing in the $150 range that has wireless charging, 2 plus Gigs of ram, or uses that cpu,

I can't see the point of a higher resolution all it does is sap the battery
