LG has today announced a new version of their Watch Urbane that features a body made from 23-karat gold, making it the perfect choice for someone wanting a premium smartwatch running Android Wear.

The Watch Urbane Luxe, as it's called, is essentially the exact same product as the regular Watch Urbane, except it comes with a 23-karat gold body and an alligator leather strap. This means you're getting the same 1.3-inch 320x320 circular P-OLED display, the same Snapdragon 400 SoC, and the same 410 mAh battery.

As you might expect, the Watch Urbane Luxe features a price tag to match its premium construction: $1,200. The Luxe may cost a fair bit more than the regular $349 Watch Urbane, but it's a lot cheaper than Apple's 18-karat gold Watch Edition, which retails for at least $10,000.

LG is making just 500 Watch Urbane Luxes, so if you're interested in owning this expensive Android Wear smartwatch, you'll probably need to pre-order one from Reeds Jewelers, who have partnered with LG to produce this device. The Urbane Luxe will officially go on sale in October, and will be shown off at IFA 2015 in Berlin later this week.
