  1. Hi,
I am a computer admin. How might I get a limited account to be able to install things? Thanks

EDIT: I'm on windows XP if it helps.

request is contrary to the design of LUA accounts.

LUA users can only modify their own stuff, so IF an install can be performed
into \Docs & settings\UserProfile\Program Files, then it will (sometimes) work.
More typically, the install drops into c:\Program Files which will be protected
    BY DESIGN.

All that said, if you have the installer package on the disk, create a shortcut to
it. Then you can right-click->run as ... and perform the install under the login
of an Admin account (if you have the id+password).

This saves flopping about using Switch Users :)
