Just wondering if my thinking is correct. With a cable to USB into my computer from HD of another, can I not boot into DOS and partition and load OS onto the other computer's HD without messing mine up. Hope my thinking is correct.
Loading OS on HD from another Computer

I don't want to copy HD but, load a different OS onto it for the other computer to use. What do you think?

You cannot move Windows aross computers unless the hardware is very similar. It will just not boot.
Also, some things depend on the location of the hard drive. If the HD has ID 2 in your computer and it happens to get ID 0 in the other computer then you run into trouble.
You can try hooking up the disk into your own computer as the primary master IDE drive and install. Then put the drive in the other machine as primary IDE master and hope it works.
