Hello, I read the thread from this location on your site.

I did a very similar thing and am wondering if the computer can still be remotely repaired by the network admin, or since it is now not in the domain, the admin won't be able to see the computer on the network when plugged in? I hope that makes sense. I hate to think I have to send the laptop back when I have files I need for work on it. Thanks!

Well, in this case, your computer is no longer on the domain. As far as being remotly repaired, if you cant log in, the answer is no. Try some simple passwords to see if the college techs are lazy, by logging into the computer with things like:

User/Password

Administrator/ (BLANK)
administrator/ pass
admin/admin
admin/pass
admin/ (BLANK)

If not there are programs out there to reset your logon password in such an emergency. Look it up on microsoft.com. But I would take it to the colleges tech department and tell them to rejoin it on the domain, then your username/password she used to use will be active again, then you can recover your files.
