    i want to mount my raided ide drives 10' away from my pc.

    Why not just use another PC to hold the RAID controller and Drives and share them on a network?

    Ah, understandable, I"ve just never heard of this before. Yes is there anything wrong with hosting it on a different PC and using gigabit lan?
