long range signal boosting

Hi all, I just bought an acreage about 20km from the nearest portable wireless internet provider. What I want to do is boost the range of the portable unit(will be either Rogers or Sympatico). How would I go about it? I was thinking I would get a dish to focus it in the general direction of the tower. The lay of the land is pretty flat. Is there any suggestions on how to do something of the sort. Oh I'm not against satellite internet but it's pricy, so I'm looking for something a little less costly per month.

20 KM is a long way to be pushing wireless. I don't think there is an inexpensive way. Talk to your provider. Put up a small tower. They are not real expensive. Your provider can probably make suggestions. We have them every mile out here in the desert to make the relays work.
