Looking for a new PC

I have some people saying that it's a worth it upgrade from what I have but then others are saying I could just buy a desktop for about the same price that's better

I'm just looking for something that can handle newer games / programs such as photoshop and sony vegas cause my current laptop is slowly dieing off

I'm looking to spend between 800-1000 that's with the PC/monitor etc

If anyone could help me out with this it would be much appreciated!

I'd recommend taking a look at Entry-Level rig that you can find on Techspot's PC Buying Guide. It's right around your price range and can satisfy your requirements with little modification. For instance, If you do not need a keyboard,speakers and the extra storage, you could use the savings to grab an I5 or i7 for your CPU. Alternatively, you could even use the savings to grab a beefier GPU. Take a look and post your thoughts. I'm sure myself or others from the community will be glad to help you refine your ideas and come up with a definitive plan moving forward.
