lost autochk.exe, cant access system32

i recently cant access to my pc, which always display can't find autochk.exe then skipping then automatically rebooting....

so i take out the hard disk, put it in another pc, set it as secondary HD, and try to copy autochk.exe into the folder system32...

the problem is i cant access to the folder (access denied) and i cant paste the file into it. when checking the file properties, it display 0 bytes in the folder....

any help from you guys is appreciated. thanks
