Lost item names in my pictures folder

when i look at my pictures folder
there is no text/name below the pictures or sub folders

is there any way of recovering them?

Open the folder that contains your thumbnails, hold down the shift key, right click the folder and click Open, your names should come back.

If ever you want to get rid of names again, repeat steps above.

Or go into your "My Pictures" and set the View to Thumbnails then hold the Shift key down and click on the View button and select Details.
Remove your finger from the Shift key. You should now see file names.
Hold the Shift key down and click on the View button and select Thumbnails.
You should now see thumbnails with file names under them.
Holding the shift key down usually toggles between folder/tile names and no folder/file names.
