Lost sound after reinstalling XP Pro

Hello,

I recently had to reinstall XP Pro, and after the install I've lost sound. I currently have an AMD Athlon XP 2500+; Asus A7V8X-X ACPI Bios Revision 1011. Chipset is VIA 82C3189 rev 128. I am hoping that someone can advise me on which sound driver to install.

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Go to the Asus website and download and install the drivers for your mobo model, including the chipset drivers.

Thanks, already tried that. For some reason it did not work. It had an .awd extension and my pc would not recognize that.

I don`t understand what you`ve done, but I`ve just downloaded the sound drivers for your mobo and once extracted, there is a setup.exe file you need to run.
