Alright so don't make fun of me I'm not so computer saavy. I have a MSI 645E Max mobo, and needed the driver for sound controller. I found the one I need from the msi website, but it downloads as a winzip. What do I do to install?

If you're running Windows XP, if you right-click on the file, there should be an "Extract.." or "Extract to.." selection as Windows XP has a basic unzip utility built in.

Just use the wizard to extract the zip to your desired location, hunt into the extracted place for a setup.exe or readme.txt for installation instructions and you should be all set.

use winzip or an uncompression utility to unzip that file to some directory you know how to get to.
go to that directory and if theres no readme file then look for setup.exe or similar.
