Alright, So I got my brothers old computer that he screwed up and had to wipe his hard drive so there is no OS on it right now.

Now my question is what should I do.

I can't find his old XP discs so I am not able to reinstall it that way. I have my XP discs from my Dell dimension. Should I use these discs to install windows and activate it that way?

Or should I take it to the store where I bought it (best buy) and talk to them about it. I already called Microsoft but they didn't help.(Not suprisingly)

It is my understanding the MS will send you a replacement install disk for a fee IF you have an authentic Certificate of Authentication number. Should have been on a sticker on the case.

Well, OK, I'll drag it outa you.

Did you note that to the MS people and ask to purchase a discounted install cd?

    :)

Well they told me to call a different number which was the HP number because its an HP Pavilion A250N.

And then that guy said maybe take it into the store but was in a hurry to just get off the phone.
