Low fps suddenly

Im having a weird problem that i cant figure out,my ping is alwalys low and my fps is usually 30-60 while playing battlefield 2142 or cs,but no matter what i do it drops out of no were to 10 and stays there for a little bit then goes back to normal and back down again.It dosnt matter if the details are onhigh or low,or if the aa is changed.My laptop used to run perfectly and it never lagged,but recently my fps has been going crazy.And im postive nothing is running in the background,and theres no virus or anything like that.Btw,this computer is about 7 months old.



Hp pavillion 9000
windows xp,1 gig of ram,
Nvidia geforce go 6150,256 mb
3.2 processor


Any ideas why this is happening?

Three possible issues:
1.gaming and laptops require very good specs
2.6150 is either integrated or shares system memory
3.if using for gaming you probably need more than 1GB since you don't have 1GB with your graphics solution
