Unfortunatly I still cant use it even if it did. The PC refuses to go into windows no matter how many ways you try to get into it. Ill ask the guy if he has it written down anywhere (doubtfull)

Youre too quick!! I refresh, reply and there is already a new post. Too good.
Downloading the new version of UBCD, only got a really old one here. Thanks Kimsland

Hooray :)

By the way, can you give me the first 3 letters of the key, I'll tell you if it's OK (I know a lot of bad ones)
Mind you I'll be signing off soon, back about 8 hrs from now, so good luck

Im fairly sure its not a bad key but will post it. Am at 70% download, worst connection at work. You would think a Fibre Optic link to the hub would be faster than 250kbps

I might wait - I realize you have to burn it then boot it, yet.

Just interested, but thought you might like to know. (if it's known?)

Actually, I really should go, I'll check out later how you went.

Make sure to do all Windows updates, and probably re-install Antivirus

By the way, don't post your entire key whatever you do

Yeh, wont be posting my full key dont you worry.
CCT - as far as I can tell it does require the key. Sometimes requires re-activation aswel

Cant get UBCD to work. Going home to my padded cell and put head in bucket. Thanks for all your help, will be back tomorrow

I cured a system with this error - which occurred after installing some new software.
I found a solution by googling for "lsass"
IIRC, one replaces lsass.exe with a fresh copy from the instal cd.

Hey guys, Back again. I am now having trouble with the UBCD, i need this to get the XP code from the unbootable xp PC (or i would run the jellybean key finder on it within windows), when i have this key i will try to run the system recovery thing through an XP disk.

One question, can i enter a different key to the one on the PC?

You can run a new key, from MS in the installation.
But it must relate exactly to the Windows version that you are installing.

This information should be on the original disc or missing sticker, also within Windows !!

The UBCD keyfinder, should find your installed key, unless it has already been removed (by all this corruption)

It is also extremely likely that you will need to re-activate, and you may be given 3 days to do so. Therefore doing all this work without a valid key, would be a waste of time.

Have you given Ubuntu any thought ? Ubuntu is 100% free to private users, and does not have the activation issues of MS.
Also Ubuntu does Everything that Windows does (Internat; Mail; Word; Pictures; Media Player; Games except flash)
If you are wise at this point in your computers life, it would be better to go for this. You can even download the entire operating system. Also Ubuntu is way safer than MS Windows, usually it will never see Trojans and Virus.

Please put some thought into this, as I am concerned that you are trying to cut corners and this can be long road, to ongoing issues. Take this as your best advice, and act on it.
