M-Audio Firewire Audiophile/ASIO Help please!

Hi--

Just installed suject M-Audio device with their new drivers released in January.

No sound. Using J.River Media Center as player.

Strangely Windows XP Pro shows M-Audio on Sounds and Audio Devices Properties Control Panel. But under Volume tab Device Volume is grayed out--unable to move slider pegged at Low.

What is this telling me?

is your firewire interface configured properly? i have the audiophile 2496 and i use the m-audio delta control panel, was an alternative to the windows volume provided w/your card?
