Solved Malware/Adware Infection

Download and run MBAM-clean.exe...yes.
Disabled Avast and Emsisoft (for 10 minutes only)...yes.
Download MBAM installer...yes
Install MBAM (version 2.0.2.1012)....NO.
'Error creating files in destination folder' message again.

I then repeated all of the above but this time I tried changing the destination folder from Program Files x86 to just Program Files...still the MBAM installer was denied access...
SUPERAnti Spyware also failed to install correctly..I have run full scans on Avast and Emsisoft and nothing has been detected ( the generic Trojan I mentioned has been quarantined and removed).
Windows is up to date and Firewall is ON with no exceptions.

Download Windows Repair (All in One) from this site

Install the program then run it.

NOTE 1. In Windows Vista, 7 and 8 right click on the program, click "Run As Administrator".
NOTE 2. Disable your antivirus program before running Windows Repair.

Go to Step 3 and click on Check button next to 1. See If Check Disk Is Needed.
If the tool that the Check Disk is needed click on Do It button next to 2. Check Disk.
In that case make sure you restart computer.

Post Windows Repair log which is located in the following folder:
64-bit systems - C:\Program Files (x86)\Tweaking.com\Windows Repair (All in One)\Logs
32-bit systems - C:\Program Files\Tweaking.com\Windows Repair (All in One)\Logs

I have tried to install the tweaking program a few times now and each time this message appears:
Could not create uninstall shortcut
C:\Program Data\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Tweaking.com\Windows Repair (All in One)\
Uninstall Tweaking.com-Windows Repair (All in One) . ink

I tried the download mirrors @ Techspot and Major Geeks

I have to say I do not fully understand all the processes involved in that tutorial..it will take me some time to absorb all that information as it is beyond my capabilities to carry out the instructions with confidence. My Asus desktop came pre-installed with Windows 8.1 so I do not have a DVD disc from which to do a reinstall...should I try a more simple 'System Restore' and turn back time a few weeks?
I will continue reading the tutorial in the hyperlink above.

Honestly, there is nothing complicated there.
It's just following few steps.
I'm sure you can do it.

Pleased to report 'mission accomplished' (y)
I have successfully completed a full system refresh and my PC is running as good (if not slightly better!) as when I bought it back in January this year. I did have to re-install a few programs like Picasa,Media player and my printer software. Google's AutoBackUp really helped too.
Malwarebytes is also up and running..it has just completed an initial scan of 342960 objects in under 25 minutes and all is clear. I have also deleted Emsisoft and will continue to use Avast! and now MBAM which is all the security I need. So, unless you wish me to carry out anymore maintenance/checks etc.. I guess we can put a ' case closed' on this thread.
Thank you once again.
