I am having a problem with my computer. Symptoms: Many windows of IE poping up all the time with porn, Task manager is blocked, my hosts file had just about every anti virus provider added to it, whenever i openned IE it would crash.

I went through the instructions in the sticky at the top of this forum. After having gone half way through (installing avast and zonealarm, maybe just a coincidence) my system became fairly unstable. BSOD all the time, especially during start up. Safe mode is fine, and if I set msconfig to selective startup and turn off system.ini and win.ini and turn off all services it becomes stable again.

Please help, I think i have already removed several malware/spyware objects. I think that i have/had wsusupd.exe and something called ati2kstg.dll and both are virus?

AVG antispyware doesnt show anything anymore. here are my logs

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Your system is absolutely riddled with malware. So much so, I advise you to backup your important data, format and reinstall.

ok, i guess thats what i have to do.

Unfortunately, i have a dell and no windows XP disks. I have the license, but do you know where i could find replacement discs? I have heard that dell can be less then helpful about sending out windows disks.

Ok, in that case, I`m going to try and help you clean your system.

Please note: I make no guarantees as to whether your system will run ok once the cleaning is done.

Follow these instructions exactly.

Go and run this Symantec/Norton removal tool.

Run AVG Antirootkit and have it fix all issues.

Please download FixWareout from one of these sites:
http://downloads.subratam.org/Fixwareout.exe
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/lonny/Fixwareout.exe

Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish.
The fix will begin; follow the prompts. You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so. Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.

Go to add remove programmes in your control panel and uninstall anything to do with(if there).

Microsoft Security Adviser

Close control panel.

1. Please download The Avenger by Swandog46 from HERE. Save it to your Desktop and extract it.

2. Download the attached avengerscript.txt and save it to your desktop

Note: the above code was created specifically for this user. If you are not this user, do NOT follow these directions as they could damage the workings of your system.

3. Now, start The Avenger program by double clicking on its icon on your desktop.

Under "Script file to execute" choose "Load script from file".
Now click on the folder icon which will open a new window titled "open Script File"
navigate to the file you have just downloaded, click on it and press open
Now click on the Green Light to begin execution of the script
Answer "Yes" twice when prompted.

4. The Avenger will automatically do the following:

It will Restart your computer. ( In cases where the code to execute contains "Drivers to Unload", The Avenger will actually restart your system twice.)
On reboot, it will briefly open a black command window on your desktop, this is normal.
After the restart, it creates a log file that should open with the results of Avenger’s actions. This log file will be located at C:\avenger.txt
The Avenger will also have backed up all the files, etc., that you asked it to delete, and will have zipped them and moved the zip archives to C:\avenger\backup.zip.

5. Please attach the content of c:\avenger.txt into your reply, as well as a fresh HJT, Combofix and AVG Antispyware logs. Also, please attach the C:\fixwareout\report.txt

Regards Howard :)
