Marvell LAN And Windows Issues

hello.. I'm havin big problems with a new system that i have put together.

system specs
Motherboard: P5GD1
Memory: Samsung 512mb (Single chip)
cpu: 530 3GHz
harddrive: SATA 160 GB MAXTOR
video: Asus PCI-E 5750 Extreme

Problems i'm havin
1) when i install windows xp i get lots of missing file or corrupt file warnings but my cd is like new (no scratches)
i have even tryed it on an other puter, just to check and it works fine
not sure if this has something to do with the SATA HD or Bios configs

2) i have mannaged to get windows install without an error comming up. now problem being i have intenet but i cant access network connections in the control panel (it takes about 30 minutes to open) and it's blank. Doesn't show a active connection yet i have internet ... problem is i host game servers from this machine and thay look for that con. and it's not there and i cant make one.

there are more problems but there minor if i could figuer out these 2 i'd be happy for now

oh and my network adapter is a Marvell Yokon PCI-E GB controller

Have you installed the drivers for your motherboard and the network card?

Run a memory test just in case it is bad RAM causing you issues.

Ok i downloaded Memtest and ran it from windows .. it came back with 500 plus errors so i'm gonna buy some new ram and try it.. see if it makes the difference or if the MB memory slot is bad.. i'll post back let ya know. thanks
