My laptop recently had loads of nasties + couple of viruses. Thanks to Howard Hopkinson, my system is now clean but it takes absolutely ages for my system to get through the windows log on. Once I log in (windows xp), my system takes forever & is busy for about 10 minutes before I can attempt to do anything. I am at a loss to know what it is actually doing!

I used to run Norton Internet Security 2005 and start up & logging on was fine but now I use AVG antivirus, AVG Antispyware (resident shield disabled) and Zone Alarm firewall (Norton uninstalled). Any ideas anyone - could it just be down to the new software I have installed - I have heard that Zone Alarm takes an awful lot of memory??

I do also have on my system about 180 high quality digital photos - could these be causing a problem with memory, as they take up alot of space.

Many thanks
Nikki

1.Zone Alarm doesn`t use that much memory.

2.Digital photos won`t slow down booting.

3.Post another log.Somebody will tell what the problem is.
