Media Player running slow

When I download a video clip from my email it runs very slow and jumpy. Any suggestions. I am running version 10. On a toshiba laptop. Same video runs fine on all my other computers.

its obviously streaming video. maybe a poor wireless connection. are you downloading or doing any cpu-intensive task in the background? a bad wireless connection could slow down streaming video for sure, and cpu-intensive tasks never help

my wireless connection was running strong, 54mbps and I also tried the same video on a different laptop and had no problems. And I checked the task manager and there was nothing extensive running. So that is where I got stumped. I even tried reinstalling the media player and updating the activeX and still no results.
